I'm really confused by the parking prices. I went to check the prices for reserved parking and it was 38$ a month. Then it was 456$ annual.
I understand that they did 38x12 to get 456$, but why did they do 12 months? At most we are at school for 10 months, (5 months per semester), and it's more like 4 months if you consider we start end of august and finish 1/2 way into December.

So if you are there for let's say 5 months a semester, then it's 190$/ semester, and 380$ for both. If 4 months a semester, which makes more sense if they start counting the month from the day you buy it, then it's 152$/ Semester, and 304$/ for both.

So can someone explain to me why anyone would buy the annual and not just keep getting monthly parking? Is there some rule that you can only get a certain amount of monthly parking? Cause i really see it as stupid to get the annual parking.

One time I tried to buy my permit (which, by the way, was x12 for August - May) before school started and they would not let me. I told them they were prorating me x12 but only giving me a permit x9. Also that my parents were both lawyers and this was illegal. They basically ignored me but after that permit prices for EIG went down $50.

This spring I did out the math and saved myself $20 since I was only coming in 3 or so times a week, I bought daily passes to JPJ. My friend prorated at UHall and she paid not only for the entirety of January (when we bought our permits the 20-something) but also for May (one week of classes). It was still cheaper than day to day for her, since she came in every day. But parking just likes to charge people.

My biggest issue with parking was when they gave me a ticket but never actually gave me the ticket. Then it showed up blocking me from classes on SIS with a late charge. I called and said I had never gotten the ticket. They said too bad. I said ON MY HONOR I NEVER EVEN GOT THE TICKET WHY IS THERE A LATE CHARGE and they said Too Bad Pay It Or Be Kicked From Classes. Never have I ever felt my honor disrespected so much (except for the one honor trial I initiated where the kid did not get kicked out). I was literally in tears. Anyways, parking puts a bad taste in my mouth but there is nothing you can do. Watch out they boot now too.
