Another Chance me: UT Austin, U Washington, Columbia, and Cornell

Hello, so I’m applying to all of the above colleges for the fall of 2018 and I was wondering if any of you could give me an estimate of my chances of getting into computer science, for all the colleges, as my first choice, my second would be biochemistry. I understand that there’s a lot of information so any help would be great.

class rank: 82/1026 (in state so not automatic to UT)

SAT: 1500 CR: 730 Math: 770

4 years of computer science, HL this year

Computer Science Honor Society

Attended 15 Computer Science UIL’s

Recommendation from my computer science teacher

Interned at a Software Firm

Shadowed at a Private Clinic

GPA? Hard to chance if we don’t know that… it’s easily one of the most important factors in admissions. If you GPA is above a 3.5 i’d say you have a good chance of getting into UT Austin.

UT Austin should be considered a reach for all non-automatic-admission applicants (automatic admission applicants take up most of the spots, leaving the few remaining spots in competition with all out-of-state applicants). In addition the CS major is additionally selective. Washington CS is highly competitive to get direct admission to the major, although getting into the school as undeclared is less difficult (but then getting into the major after enrolling as undeclared is highly competitive, based on college grades). Cornell and Columbia are always reaches.
