another chance thread

Ive applied to 18 colleges and have been accepted to 10 so far. No denials yet and Im still hoping for the elusive UF.

I brought my act up to a 28 and my sat up to an 1880. I have a 3.92 gpa weighted for UF with lots of ecs. 160 hours of community service and what I think is a great essay about my hobby which I hope fits into me adding something to their school and the organizations that I will join when I go there (hoping). I have honors ap's and aice classes only ...........top 18% at a very competitive highschool. The only regular courses that i took were gym and spanish 1 and 2.

What do you think? Is there any hope for me?

Firstly, congratulations on your accomplishment and like many here on this forum, most of us are seeking that most elusive acceptance from UF! Although your stats fall right in the middle 50% of those “previously” accepted, remember that applications @ UF have increased approximately 10% to about 33,000 thus your stats will fall below the 50% mark. Also remember that UF places a “holistic” approach to the application process which means in my opinion, they will choose whoever they want.
Regardless, Good Luck!

i guess thats it one reply

I think you have a shot. Write the essay of your life and yes apply for summer B.

What are the schools that did accept you?

ucf
unf
fau
univ of tenn
auburn
pitt
univ of mass amherst
univ of conn
usf
univ of south carolina
alabama
fsu

That is one awesome list. Good luck to you. I agree UF should be your #1 choice.

Thank you, I just got my semester grades and I have straight a’s with 4 ap courses one honors and one regular. My gpa for uf for this semester is a 4.75. If they say no to me im going to petition to get in. I wonder if theres any way to send this to them to let them see it before the deadline. any thoughts?
