I'm just getting real anxious about the upcoming decision (And my missing Y) so I'm making a chances thread for myself just to get some opinions. Sorry if you have already seen my stats so many times already, but I really want my own thread now.

UF GPA: 3.57
School Does Not Rank

Applied Undecided

ACT Composite(Better than SAT score): 32
E- 33
M- 33
R- 34
S- 28
W-11

School: Ultra-competitive private school

ECs- Over 340 hours of comm. service by the end of senior year.
Secretary of Young Democrats (Founding year!)
School Ambassador (Hand picked by school to represent them at open houses and shadow new students. It's extremely selective, and I mentioned it's selectivity in the activity description.)
Accepted to and participated in Youth Leadership Broward program
National History Day Competition

Awards- National History Day 1st Place Winner in school and county. 2nd in Florida. Participated in national Washington D.C. competition.
1st place science fair winner in school and 2nd place winner in county for two years running
3rd place in Florida Junior Academy of Science Competition

Summer- FAU Honors Summer Institute. (A special program at FAU's honors college where HS juniors and seniors can take a junior-level honors college course at an accelerated pace. The program lasted for three weeks and I lived in their dorms. I got an A in the class and an official FAU transcript was sent to UF, but it appears as UNEVALUATEDecd for whatever reason on the status site. I hope they still considered it!)

Other considerations-

When I entered high school, I was fresh out of remedial classes. In a sense, in HS, I was "recovering" from my learning disability. I checked the box declaring it on the application. The reason for my low GPA is that my freshman and sophomore year schedules are no where near as strong or weighted as my junior and senior year. (Even so, my junior and senior year schedules would still appear wimpy to some here.) For comparison:

Freshman year classes:

English I
World Geography
Pre-Algebra
Honors Biology
Spanish I
Intro to Drama
P.E.

Senior year classes:

College Writing
English IV
Honors American Government
Honors Macro Economics
Honors Psychology
Honors Calculus
AP Environment
Honors Web Design

Needless to say, this is a definite ultra-upward trend in grades.

My position academically when I started HS impacted my ability to take AP classes, because my school requires a teacher recommendation to move to AP, or even honors for that matter. Also notice the jump from pre-algebra to Honors Calculus. (Lots of summer work.) Basically, I have been hoping that admissions would forgive my lack of AP classes (Enviro is my only one) and see that the progress from freshman to senior year and my awards better show my academic ability than my GPA.

Also, on another note, I received a $16,000 scholarship to UMiami and was accepted to New College if somehow those are possible indicators of admission to UF.

Well, I think that's it! Thanks for your help, and please forgive my anxiety!
