<p>President Sample has appointed SC's Manual Castells as the Annenberg School's second USC University Professor. University Professorships are awarded based on multidisciplinary interests and significant accomplishments in several disciplines.
Professor Castells is the foremost cited communications scholar in the world.
"By coming to the Annenberg School, while being courted by every major university, he increased our already outstanding reputation exponentially" remarked Geoffrey Cowan, director of the USC Annenberg's Center on Communication and Policy.</p>
