I will be grateful for any feedback whatsoever.

Send your SAT IIs and ACT scores (though I don't know if it's possible to not send your SAT I scores if you send the IIs).

You've got a lot of Bs, and your ECs are mediocre (you don't seem to have a single leadership position). Write really good essays, because I'd say your chances are below average at this point.

Whoops, I forgot to put my 760 on math for the SAT I. I think you're right...I can't really send in SAT II without sending SAT I scores. Oh and by the way, thanks for the really quick response.

I think I can do alright with essays. I'm good with creativity and I'm a pretty good writer.

No problem. I like to give quick responses, since I know everyone wants them (though it feels as if my karma isn't working--nobody ever replies to my chances threads).

The 760 on math is a nice score, but it's not going to blow the adcoms away. Your biggest problem seems to be that nothing jumps up off of your application--your grades are solid but not spectacular and your ECs are all over the place and don't seem to demonstrate any leadership.

That said, you are academically in the ballpark, and your essays and recommendations will be what get you in.

hi, i believe you would have stood a better chance had you applied ea. i don't see why you wouldn't apply ea, you aren't bound even if you do get accepted. since you went to the trouble of making the distinction that uchi is your first choice in rd, may i ask what your first choice is ed?. the 610 cr is not good. but the act isn't bad. this is a nail biter all the way.

Wow BlacknBlue, is it really a nail biter? What do you see that makes you believe this applicant has a 50/50 chance - which is my definition of nail biter? I'm only asking because I respect your frank assessments.

hi go: look, if i didn't say it was a nail biter, i would have said this was a "no". the main reason i say that is that the cr part of the sat is quite low. the 760 is fairly muted because a lot of kids score high on the math, but a lower percentage really do well in the verbal. it would have been a vastly different application had the scores been reversed. the sat II's are nice scores so that shows the applicant is not a dummy. the act's aren't bad either. i like the diversity of ec activities, however there is no depth there. it seems like the applicant. except for badminton, only undertakes stuff for a year, then drops them. i don't see any non school related ec's. I see a lot of a's and b's which help. no class rank was noted. this case could very well be an easy decline, but the a's and b's, 760, sat II's, badminton (how many of those do you see every year?) violin (albeit for one year) are all nice. counterbalancing that is the 610, mediocre ec's and you have a nail biter. will need tremendous essays that will make the reader fight for this kid otherwise.....

The OP should also do his very best for his midyear grades - they will be looked at - and a lone A will not help his case. Especially with excellent SAT and SAT II math scores, a B is AP Calc AB is not that great. I think the result will hinge on both midyear grades and essays.
