Another question/ phones

Also, can someone offer any advice about the necessity of requesting additional telephone services? As I understand it, UR provides free local and university calls and voicemail, but students must provide their own telephones and pay a fee for an adapter for a cordless telephone. Is that correct?

My family uses Verizon, and my daughter has a cellphone I assume she will take with her to make long distance calls. Is there any reason she would anything else from UR?

Don't do any of the calling plans- just use a cell phone.

So many students use cell phones that some schools are doing away with phone service in the dorms. Usually a good cell phone plan is fine. Calling family is usually free, and the kids text message. So a plan that includes a free friends/family option and unlimited text messaging is ideal.
