Another Should I take it again question with a slight twist

Ok, so I'm a Freshman, and I received a 2380 on the June SATs back when I was an 8th grader. I kept my score via collegeboard.
Now, the question is, should I take the test again? I really don't want to waste time studying for the SAT, and I definitely don't want to sit through another five hour test. But my parents being the Indians they are want me to take it again to get a 2400. SMH, IKR.
Aside from that, my counselor wants me to take it again, but only because she thinks that colleges won't count a score from 8th grade, even if it was kept and everything by CollegeBoard.
I can see both sides of the argument. I go to a 750+ kids per grade public school, which excels in academics and athletics. We usually have at least a 2400 per grade. I know it sounds silly, but there are so many qualified candidates that I'm actually thinking of retaking it. Otherwise, I just don't see the point, and I might even get a lower score! How embarrassing would that be!
So what do you think? Should I take it again? Or should I just let it be, in the words of Paul McCartney?
And please note I'm not here to brag about my score or anything. I just want some advice, because as petty as this issue sounds, as stupid as it is, I actually care, because freshman don't get homework anyways. I'm asking this in all sincerity, I request those who answer it do the same.

If the colleges you’re applying to honor your score don’t bother retaking it. A 2380 as opposed to a 2400 won’t make or break your application(I’m not even sure if they’re truly considered different in the college admissions process), instead I would recommend doing a meaningful EC because that may make or break your application to a top tier school.

In any case, I think scoring a 2380 as an 8th grader is much more impressive than scoring it as a junior.

And if you’re parents want you to retake it for a 2400, do NOT take it for that reason. It is a waste of your time and their money. And if you score lower, it will cause more problems because they will want you to retake it again.

And as Blahblahblah said, if the colleges honor, then don’t retake it.

Thanks to both of you. But do you know if in general colleges honors pre-HS SAT scores?

If you want the college board to keep these scores, you need to contact them and request that they do so. Otherwise scores for 7th/8th graders will be removed.

Python, I’ve already done that, back in June.
