Would you retake a 2390?

Mis-bubbled a question, cost me a 2400.
I know colleges don't care about differences like these, but it's so much more than that. Seriously consider my position; could you just let that go without taking another shot?

Yes I could.

You’re joking… Right?

Haha
You know these tests cost money right? And four hours of your life?

You’re saying you wouldn’t give up four hours and fifty dollars for a lifetime of smug self-satisfaction?

There are better things to feel satisfied about. I would hope. SAT scores are just a means to an end.

If you can consistently get 2400 on practice tests, by all means retake. If careless errors occasionally pop up, then it won’t be worth your time.

it’s not worth the time.

by all means take it…

if you want to seem like a self-serving pedant.

If I missed one in Math, then sure.

As someone who got a 2400, I absolutely would not retake anything 2350+. It’s just not worth it.

You are asking our permission?

Because there is no concrete reason to retake. In fact your sat score is going to be like a high school ring to you in 2 years- embarrassingly outdated in college.

Any reason you would retake would be psychological, and we cant answer that for you. Btw I thought you had to miss more than one to drop below an 800.

I admitted that the only benefit is psychophysical which explains why I am interested in how other people would act in this position. Math has an especially unforgiving curve…

retake it… who wouldn’t want to be able to say they got a 2400?

This.

You’d be surprised how short-lived the satisfaction you’re talking about is. Your SAT score won’t matter to you (hopefully) or to anyone else once you’re in college. I think I’ve only told one or two people that I had a 2400 since leaving high school (and only because they asked). People in college pay attention to what their peers accomplish in college, not what they accomplished in high school.

By all means, take it again if you really feel the need to give it another shot, because nothing bad is going to come of it. I can relate to the need you feel to retake it, just for that personal satisfaction. I’m just letting you know that it’s not going to matter to you a year or two from now.

Advantages of retaking:
*Bragging rights for 2400

Disadvantages of retaking:
*Risk of not getting 2400
*Waste $50 and 4 hours of your life
*2400 won’t matter once you’re in college.

I wouldn’t retake.

It’s 10 points… It’s like saying would you retake a test you got a 90 on for a higher grade. Who cares? An A is an A is an A.

That score is already really good, I would focus on essays and extracurricular.

Wait, but after getting a 2400, won’t you worry about the fact that Tier I universities such as Stanford brag about rejecting many “perfect SAT scores” each year?
Lol don’t take it dude work on something else.
You could turn this into an essay topic:
“Why I missed one question on the SAT so I didn’t seem like a perfectionist”

Don’t actually
