I'll have two good recommendations from humanities teachers (AP English and AP US)... but, honestly, I haven't had any sort of relationship with any of my math/science teachers--my junior year ones, especially. So asking them is totally out of the question (even if I did ask, they wouldn't have much to say about me outside of my academic performance, which is indicated by my grades).

Should I stick with just two humanities recs, or throw in one from my soph year English teacher/current Creative Writing teacher? She wrote me a great rec for a summer program once, so I know it'd be good.

I really want to make up for the lack of sci/math rec. What do you advise?

Do you consider yourself good at math/science? Have you participated in any extracurriculars related to math/science? Or is it just... not your thing?

I think you're definitely making the right decision - it's way more important to have rec's by people who know you well than people who just fit the mold of "math/science teacher." It's a great rec that'll ultimately get you in, not the title of the person who wrote it :)

Do you think that the soph year teacher recommendation would say new and interesting things, or just build upon the other two? Submit an extra recommendation only if you think it will be phenomenal, or it will tell the admissions committee something about you they don't know yet, is my advice. :D

Thanks, guys! I feel better knowing I won't be the first person to not submit a sci/math rec, haha.

I'm not sure if I'll ask my soph teacher. I mean, I have her as a teacher currently, also, so I feel like that could really add something. I guess I'll mull over this a little more and decide... thanks again :)
