ANOTHER yale interview?!

hey guys!

So I had an on-campus interview in New Haven in August last year, but yesterday a Yale alumni called me and told me that he will also conduct an interview with me. That one is tomorrow in Munich.

Does it mean anything that I got a second interview?

Probably just a mistake, you should probably let them know you have already been ibterviewed.

“Does it mean anything that I got a second interview?” Normally I would say NO for a US resident.

But being in Germany, Yale might be wanting more information about you – which is a good thing.

However, it’s hard to know. Good luck, nonetheless.

My interviewer actually asked me if I’d had an on-campus interview, and that it was then up to me to decide whether or not I’d like a second one. I think interviewers are not told if a student has had an interview yet.

Okay so it seems to be quite normal to have an alumni interview and an on-campus interview… whatever, I’ll just meet that guy tomorrow and chat a bit about yale, I don’t think this will hurt my application ;)

NO not a mistake. It doesn’t matter if you were interviewed on campus, they still want alum interviews.

Good luck.

Alumni interviewers do know if you had an on-campus interview. If your region has adequate resources to interview everyone, then they will offer you an alumni interview. Presumably we won’t be assigned students for a second interview if we can’t even get to all the first interviews in our region. Since that is typically the case in my locale, I can’t recall ever seeing someone that already did an on-campus interview.

There must be many alumni from american colleges in the munich area, i had interviews for almost all the colleges i applied to.
I was just a bit afraid there was a mistake and i did not tell my interviewer because I was a bit confused (…and still sleeping) when he called^^

thanks guys now I can enjoy my beer and look forward to tomorrow :)
