My daughter is British. She is a green card holder (permanent resident). How should she reply to the question 'are you applying as an international (non US Citizen) applicant'?

Also, we have to submit a copy of her Green Card. Do we copy and submit both sides of the card?

A permanent resident is not a US citizen. Where is the confusion?

I am aware that a permanent resident is not a US citizen. My confusion comes with treating her as an International Student - I just didn’t want to make a mistake. It’s not like we’ve ever filled out a Common Application before.

I believe PRs are treated the same as domestic applicants for financial aid. But if your primary residence is overseas, I believe, for admissions, u will be treated as an int’l applicant.

Best to call each school individually and check.

For those who come looking for an answer to my question - the answer is, yes you will need to contact each college individually because each college has a different reason for asking the question (to do with encouraging more international students to apply for financial reasons etc).

So it’s not a straight forward question as some might like you to think.
