Answers to some FAQ about acceptances, waves, statuses, etc...

So I never submitted my parent’s W-2s, just their tax returns. I recieved an email and faxed them today under the same tax return cover but with an extra sheet of paper with my USC ID# and “Parent W-2s” written on it. Hope this doesn’t hurt my financial aid…

Also, WEARSC, that makes me feel better. I wonder what we’re all going to do with our lives, though, after we recieve our admissions decisions. Will anybody be checking their status out of habit? haha

timish412, as long as your FAFSA and CSS/Profile were in by the deadline, your financial aid will be fine.

Hope you all get good news soon!

The waiting is tough, but they have so many applicants I imagine they are working as hard as possible. I actually filled out the housing paperwork for one of my admitted colleges last night, just in case this doesn’t work out. I will lose my deposit, but heck…if I actually got admitted to SC I would be so excited I wouldn’t care hahahaha.

Tornados,
I haven’t been following the backdoor methods all that closely but I just tried the Oasis method and followed the prompts. Birthday, then create id and password, and then it sent a confirming email to my daughter’s email which I can’t see.

Good news or to early to tell?
Best,
Wheaty

I know that there are many threads about statuses and everything, but this one is by far the most concise and informative.

However, I feel as thought I see very few people in my situation. I applied very early, and my status has ALWAYS been “your application is currently under review…notify by april 1st…blah blah blah…”
It never was forwarded, and switched back or anything. Do you think this is something to be worried about?

Wheaty…that could be good news. I tried the same back door and it told me I wasn’t authorized! This could be cool for you…I hope so. Keep me posted.

@ wheaty and Tornados

My S got the package today stamped on 3/16.
His status has changed “Being Rvd” -> FWD (3/12 3pm) -> “Being Rvd (3/15 5 pm, and backdoor method starts working”.
It seems like Roski school started sending package from the last Friday. So you will get that soon!!!

wheaty, registering for an OASIS account is not the same as the enrollment form “backdoor” thing people have been discussing on here, but I doubt you would be able to do that if your S or D weren’t accepted. (My S already had an OASIS log in from a summer school course he took at USC, but I’m pretty sure everyone can’t do that!). Could be another a good “backdoor” method - dreamupsidedown, are you reading this?

JUST read it… what’s the OASIS method exactly?

I thought OASIS was for actual USC students to check their grades, classes, etc. Im not sure though!

^yes, that’s what it is. Maybe I misunderstood wheaty’s post on the previous page.

Anyone accepted to the CLAS wanna answer my questions?
My speculation for the status change was that you would get forwarded if you had another school besides USC (such as Thornton, or Marshall).
Anyone accepted into CLAS go to forwarded?
And if you have, did you go back to reviewed?

hey guys, i went to https://camel2.usc.edu/AdmCertification/ThankYou.aspx</a> and for the first time, i saw this message: "Our processor did not accept your credit card. Please double-check your credit card information and try again. Should you have continued difficulties, please try a different card or contact us at (213) 740-1111. " i tried logging in with my ID and birthday and it didnt work for some reason. what could that msg mean?

the Oasis method works for me… but is it a surefire way? or can everybody do it?

ukukdad…thank you! That is really good to hear.

@dream

i’m on the OASIS site but i dont see a link for create an account or anything like that…

is the “oasis method” logging in the oasis homepage (https://camel2.usc.edu/OASIS/Login.aspx</a>) and creating a new password? if i was able to login, does that mean i am accepted?

i think so because im trying to log in and it saids i have an invalid usc id number…plus i don’t even know what password i would use? how did u guys sign up?

How did you guys set up an oasis account though? I went to https://camel2.usc.edu/OASIS/Login.aspx</a> but did not find any instruction on how to create an account.

login with your USC ID. your password should be your birthday (mm/dd/yy)
