Answers to some FAQ about acceptances, waves, statuses, etc...

ukukdad,
Congrats!!! Good for you guys!

dbroncos23,
On the first page it asks for your USC id number (10 digits) and your birthday. Have you seen this page?

After that it asked me to create an account name and password.

My daughter then got an email link to verify her identity and then we were in. It did not say ‘accepted’ anywhere but her financial aid account was live. Not conclusive but not negative.

I guess it just means that I resume my mailbox bunker stance.

Weee this is fun! :)

looks like you guys are onto something because i tried that and its telling me i have an invalid usc id

Wheaty, hey when i logged on the oasis site with my usc id and bday, they just asked me to make a new password. how did you get to the creating account name part?

@Wheaty
Thanks!!!

Level with you, I’m a bruin(Computer Science & Engin.), but I so proud to be a father of a Trojan!!!

Guys, I don’t think this is a good method of checking… it seems like setting up an account is similar to setting up a USConnect account. For all we know, they could let anyone set one up as long as they have a USC ID number. And they could let anyone sign up so that they can take summer courses and stuff. I don’t think we should use it as an indicator of admission.

dbronco23, it tells me I have an invalid ID and my son is already accepted. So I don’t think it’s reliable!!!

Dream…I had the same feeling about it. I don’t think it is a good indicator.

@jazz/sherddermom

many thanks!!

Dream & Tornados,
That’s why I brought it to you experts to help sort through this. I’ll stick to ‘inconclusive’ and resume my mailbox position.
Thanks guys,
Wheaty

Bumping this in case any new people show up and are wondering what the status updates mean.

my status changed to one sentence “Your application has been forwarded for committee review”.

it used to have all the stuff about being notified by april 1st too =/

bumping this thread back to the top of the list :slight_smile: it has all the answers

bump because I’m going crazy.

Just a tiny caution to avoid broken hearts: At some point, ALL applications will be forwarded, reviewed, forwarded, etc. and have an answer sent, regardless of what that answer is.

well needed bump ahahhaa.

To clear up any confusion on when admission decisions will be made, I would suggest you call 213.740.1111 for all admission inquiries, and any engineering applicants can call the Viterbi School of Engineering Office of Admission and Student Affairs directly at 213.740.4530. They can lookup each file and tell you when you can expect an admission decision. This way you don’t have to guess or rely on other people’s experiences. Hope this helps! Fight on!
