For National Merit, once they release semi finalist for your state in September, you’ll apply for NMF while you’re in your first year of college. Once you officially qualify, they’ll probably start feeding money back to you.
My question is: do the scholarships that they list apply for all four years of college?

@movielover123 the end of March couldn’t come sooner
Hey guys. First off good luck on your applications.I applied for RHP last year and was rejected, although i hope to get in this year. In a way, I am glad that I didn’t get in, because I would have been starting college when I was 16, and after visiting campus and going to a couple of parties with my sister that goes there, I am convinced that I would not have done very well that first year. That is not to discourage you form going. This is a great opportunity and if you get in you should take it. If you are wondering about your chances, Here were my stats:
GPA: 4.0/4.29 - number 1 in class, higher than most seniors and one of the highest gpas ever at my school for a junior
ACT- 34 comp: 31 Math, 35 English, 34 reading, 34 science, 6 essay
No SAT at the time
My essays were pretty good, I would say around 7 or 8/10, and my recommendations were great.
I think the thing that killed me was only having taken one AP class, regardless of the fact that that was more than anyone in my class, as my school only has APs available to seniors.
Diversity: None, I am a straight white christian male from an upper middle class family with parents that both went to school.
@mattyboy88 what major did you apply into?
Very quiet lately. Had anyone heard from RHP?
I doubt we’ll hear anything until the last week in March
USC FB new post: decision letters send out March 23, online post March 26. Good luck everyone!
Says they’re stuffing envelopes on Instagram, this is nerve wracking! The RHP notification process is just like the normal process, right?
@wavesthetic I first got my admission notification via mail/youSC portal, then about a week later I received my acceptance letter specifically to RHP!
is it possible that we would be accepted to USC but not accepted to RHP?
@cali14379 nah, it’s not
@cali14379 nah, it’s not
Good luck guys!!! Last year it was hard for me esp b/c my portal never updated and I had to mail the office of admissions to find out about my decision(i was rejected…)
I applied again this year so hopefully I get in!!!
USC Admission post this on FB: “They’re off! Admission decisions have been sent. Congratulations to our newly admitted first-year students! #IGotIntoUSC”
