Any 2017 hopefuls with average apps?

Yeah. Wish I had better creds as well. I took my subject tests today (probably horrid) and I take the ACT next Sunday. Mer. I guess I won’t worry.

Alexissss you mean Saturday?

Nope. Sunday. Religious reasons. -_-||

Huh, well that’s fine hahaha. Although I can imagine that means an entire weekend spoiled by a single test

Pretty much! Though I imagine the ACT isn’t as difficult as the subject tests.

I liked the subject tests better. They are only an hour long compared to the monstrous ACT.

My app is pretty good, but that doesn’t mean I have much of a chance. Good luck in 10 days.

Subject tests were boring. So anticlimactic.

I took three at once so I was pretty tired. It is rather boring. I left feeling as though Math II was easy because I prepped with Barron’s.

Usually when something is easy for me I fail it, lol.

Is the club open for membership? ;)

I am pretty average myself. GPA is my problem. 83 percent average. Plus Im Indian haha. But well, ECs are good i think. Plus had to work from 10th to 12th grade to manage family’s financials and to pay for school. Probably thats why my average is sucky :/

Where else are you guys applying ?

My SATs are pretty weak too . 2000-ish. :|

You never know! My school has seen cases where the unthinkable are admitted to top schools while the top students get turned down. Some students get denied where others are accepted, while those “others” get accepted where the “some” were denied. Confusing, I know, but what I mean to say is, “It’s random.”

Yesss. Another member, lol.

I’m applying to a lot of other schools because I’m paranoid I won’t get in anywhere. Oo So far, nineteen others, but that MIGHT increase. T_T

@mohcoh
Agreed. I’ve seen kids who were “shoe ins” get rejected. With perf apps. Kinda scary. But then again when you have so many super qualified people vying for limited spots, lots of perfects get turned down. :/

Updates, anyone?

got in despite 3.8 GPA :'D

Got in! 3.7 gpa, 32 act

Applying RD. SAT : 2130 (waiting for December sat results) , GPA: 4.0

Good job to those accepted! It’s wonderful!

Good luck, @rajoftheuk!

Congrats NewYork94. I remember you felt foolish for applying because of some of our SAT scores. Most of us ended up getting deferred while you got in. Some of us just aren’t interesting enough :-/

runnerxc, indeed that is true. I don’t know why I got in, just as you don’t know why you were deferred. Ultimately though, I am very much humbled by the decision. I sincerely hope we could stay in contact. I would love to know what fine institution you set foot into (maybe Harvard!).

Well considering I was accepted to Harvard last year with a 2.8 GPA and a 1610 I think you guys definitely have a good chance. Barack Obama did write me one killer reccomendation which probably helped though. Not to mention my daddy is the president of the school! Good luck to you all :3
