Still waiting to hear (west coast)-- arghhhhh! A top choice, but so many have already heard about their acceptances. Anyone else still waiting to hear?

I am still waiting to hear,
but I'm an international student,
so it may take longer...

I'm really not sure though

Thanks to everyone for the information and advice on the whole cut policy, it is much clearer to me. I was worried at the time when I read what ex-students had wrote. I guess you can't trust everything you read online. I am feeling more at ease about everything and cant wait to start classes this fall!
Again thank you, this website has been a great resource.

Wow, I am definitely not trying to transfer! What's more, none of my classmates are either. Perhaps that was another school? We are all quite satisfied with how our training is progressing.

EJSamsonite comes in today for his visit! I can't wait!

I'm still waiting to hear, you might want to call them and make sure that they have your file all together. Because I called them and they said that they were still waiting for me to be academically accepted into the university and then i told them I was and that I had received a scholarship. I had to give them the date of the letter and then they saw that I was accepted. They said that I should receive the decision soon. I'm not expecting anything, actually I'm assuming I didn't get in, but still it's my last lett I just want it...hehe. Best of luck to everyone still waiting.

I still haven't heard.
Anyone else?

MichelleV,

Call and make sure all your admittance requirements are in order. Sometimes that may delay things...and you don't want to be sitting stationary for simple unattended details.

Sue aka 5pants

Yes. Unrelated to Webster. Someone did drop the ball at another school for us. We hadn't heard from them but were told letters should not be expected until around April 15th. I thought that was awfully late but made a phone call on the 15th after the mail came. They had no record we had applied but "cheerfully" refunded our application fee, the check which they did "cheerfully" cash back in January. They "cheerfully" told us they never received the common application, though six other schools somehow managed to receive it.

DrHowardDrFine....this really doesn't belong on a Webster thread. In any case, I hope others will learn from your experience, the importance of calling all of one's schools about a month after all application materials are sent to determine if their file is complete. Some schools have it set up to check this online or send emails or postcards to this effect. But if an admissions office doesn't do this as common practice, then it is the applicant's responsibility to check if their file is complete. Schools can't be responsible for lost snail mail, cyberspace, etc. This is your admissions process, your future. The lesson is to be the one who takes control and checks on everything and also keeps extensive notes, charts and files of every aspect of this process.

I have had a school not have my D's audition appointment on file despite our having a print out of the confirmation and a credit card charge for it. But I found out their mistake by checking on the status of the file and audition appointment as a matter of steps we took along the way. I'm sorry for your experience. Hopefully others will learn from it.

I have checked to make sure if my file was completed. They said that it hasn't been handed down from the theatre department yet!

I have checked numerous times by both email and telephone.

Hello,

I am sorry to read of your problem. You should have heard by now. I will check on it Thursday. Please email me directly and I will let you know.

I hope this will help.

Oh? 5pants mentioned checking on your requirements and don't let things sit. Not once did I mention Carnegie-Mellon.
Which is why I mentioned it. Why is it OK for you to bring it up but not me?
As I mentioned in the other board, we called several times and were told everything was received and in good order.
Well, to quote YOU from the other board:

I really hope that CMU can get this part of their act together because this is NOT an isolated incident. I feel like I have heard something of this nature (with variety) more often than smooth sailing for applicants to CMU's pre college and BFA programs.

As I said, we called, we checked, they told us everything was fine and sit tight. We did our part. Please don't blame us.

Drhowarddrfine,

When I said it did not really belong on the Webster thread, it is because your entire post is telling about what happened at ANOTHER school, not Webster. You did not mention CMU, right. Neither did I.

I am not saying it is all right for me to bring up and not you. I wasn't bringing up anything but merely responding to YOUR post and since your post is already here, I broadened your example from another school to a general lesson to be learned by OTHER readers who might read of your experience.

As far as what you mentioned on "the other board".....I have no clue what you mentioned on another thread or board. I was ONLY responding above to what you wrote on THIS thread. When I responded to your post on this thread on the Webster forum, I not yet read the CMU thread on which you posted today. As well, I did not have any idea that you called CMU several times and were told everything was received, because that is not what you posted on THIS thread to which I was responding above. I had only read what you wrote here and responded to that here. I also do not "catalogue" all the posts by each member who posts on the many CC forums into files. I can't recall all posts by each person and their individual "stories". I only am responding to what is posted on the thread on which I am responding. In some cases, I know the member after having read many of their posts over a long period of time. You are a new member and I haven't any idea about all of your other posts or your individual situation. I don't have a file of "drhowarddrfine's posts or case". I read many CC forums, not just the MT Forum, and come in contact with hundreds of members. My responses on a thread are to posts on THAT thread only. If I have read hundreds of posts by a certain member, then I take their collective story into account when responding to them. Even then, I may get mixed up to keep everyone's details straight with so many members. For now, I was only going by the post I read here and responded to only the information in that post. I did not bring up anything but was giving advice to members who might read your story and steps future applicants can take to help avoid it if possible.

Lastly, I certainly am not "blaming" you for what happened at CMU. I took your experience about CMU which you related here on the Webster thread, which did not include sharing about having checked to see if your file was complete, and gave GENERAL advice to ALL posters for the future to learn and observe what can happen at some schools. I wasn't talking about you at that point but about lessons to learn as to what can happen and what steps others may wish to take. I have no idea what steps you had already taken to check on the completeness of your application at CMU. I know CMU has an application status page as well. I only knew what you wrote above in post #48.

I am sorry for what happened to you. Later when I read your new post today on the CMU thread, I also commented to you there, which you have now quoted here, that I have heard of many similar type experiences others have had at colleges and particularly at CMU. My posts were addressed to all readers, not ONLY to you. I read that thread AFTER this one and responded there to what you wrote THERE.

Good luck to you.

Still haven't heard,
I'm guessing they lost my paperwork.

Oh well,
I'm headed to UArts in the fall!

MichelleV...just wondering if you contacted Plaidman as he had suggested? PM me and let me know.
