accepted to otis, cca, and sfai for painting. what do you guys suggest!

Sounds like pratt accepted students found out on 3/21 by email. has anybody gotten a rejection email from pratt by email? anymore acceptances for pratt by email since 3/21?

I never got an email from Pratt, so I emailed the admissions office & it turns out that they had misspelled my email address... but they won't send me my email now! They're making me wait for the letter. It's coming in a few days, yeah, but it's obnoxious! I mean how hard is it to send the email to the correct address now that they've corrected my file? I really just want to know now since everyone else already does. I don't know, that just kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I've RAVED about this school to everyone, but this just kinda annoyed me (probably not helped by the fact that it's getting down to the wire for all my other schools so now the anxiety is setting in haha).

& I know a girl who was waitlisted by email... I'm not sure about rejections though.

Hmm!
I'm still waiting for the acceptance/rejection letter too!
It seems like everyone has gotten it except me.
As soon as I get it, I'll keep you guys posted.

i was rejected from pratt last year via snail mail. i never got an e-mail.

Two years ago, my kid was accepted to RISD around the 1st or 2nd week of April. It was the last acceptance received. Good luck!!!

I got accepted to Pratt :) I got the email the 21st as well like others on here.

To cherrycrush-- yeah, they also had a problem with my email, but I got that fixed earlier this month. Because I knew that we were supposed to receive an email by March 1st letting us know whether or not our applications were complete, but I didn't get one, so I contacted them and apparently I "hadn't given them an email" (yet when I looked at my completed application, my email is clearly typed in the required area, so I have no idea what they were talking about) so they sent me that email letting me know they had received all my materials on the 14th.

But I hear that the administration and organization of Pratt is appalling. I've only heard wonderful things about the teachers and classes though, so I guess that's what matters most.

Seriously, the administration is pretty bad, I definitely experienced that this summer.
I never got the email, but I didn't know I was supposed to since I got that info in a letter. Whoops. But I got survey emails from Pratt, so who knows.

sidenote: I love your username. That is one of my favorite movies.

Oh you've been to Pratt? Is it nice there? I told myself I wasn't going to visit it unless I was accepted, so now I'm just waiting for Accepted Students Day on the 18th.

LOL I actually got my name from this kids show "Maggie and the Ferocious Beast". The beast always said something like "great googly moogly!"

I'm waiting for RISD. I used to be excited about the school. But now my interest is drifting towards MICA.
I haven't been able to visit any schools though, and I probably won't be able to in the future.

Ah I was thinking Monsters Inc!
Pratt is really nice. I love it there. It's going to be hard for me to go to another school after spending the summer there. Of course like any school, it has its flaws. But the campus is awesome and Brooklyn is the best place to be.

Well.. a couple of days ago, I talked to the director of admissions at pratt, and they said that there not done sending acceptance emails. I think they will send more this saturday.
Probably if your admissions materials were completed late(mines was march 14)youll get it soon..only time will tell.

brianm02--when you say you won't be able to visit schools, I'm assuming it's because you're too far and it's too expensive? I totally empathize with that as we too are pretty poor, but a couple things you might want to know--first of all, the airlines are giving a TON of specials right now, really cheap deals (eg $99 each way from CA to NYC). Look into the flights--they may be more affordable than you think. But also, once you get accepted, consider calling up the universities you want to visit and explain your situation--that you really want to visit but you don't have the money. I'm assuming this would be reflected in your fafsa. While not all schools will be able to fund your trip, or defray its cost, some will. It's definitely worth the call. I say all this because I would be very, very reluctant to send my own daughter off to a school she never visited. Some schools SEEM like they'd be a terrific fit until you get there. And some schools seem so-so until you get there and discover you LOVE the school. There's nothing that can replace visiting. And I realize that finances are the most important factor for you and you may not have a choice (we're in the same boat). But if you DO have a situation in which the playing field is relatively equal, please try to visit. Even if a school is the 'best deal' financially, it's not worth it if you hate it once you get there. Not every college is for every person.

I've gotten into SMFA, MICA, NYU Steinhardt, Pratt Institute, Bard College, and Northwestern University so far. I'm still waiting for RISD, Tufts, and Brown.
I want to go for film/animation... I have NO idea where to go now haha.

Well, now we know Pratt's handing out rejections via snail mail.
I got my rejection today...
Parsons is my only choice now.
If they don't accept me, I don't know what I'll do.
Good luck to everyone who applied to Pratt ! I hope you all get in.

I just got my snail mail acceptence from Pratt.

Got my rejection from Pratt today as well. I think it's for the best, because I liked SVA's photo program more. I paid my $500 reg fee and registered for classes like two months ago so this is not too crushing =). Awesome board btw, and See ya'll in the fall at SVA!

hi im new on here... i havent gotten anything from Pratt and thats the only schoool i want to go to... im getting very nervous because everyone seems to have gotten an answer as to if they were rejected or accepted. if anyone knows if they do the letters alphabetically please let me know because my last name starts with a Y so im thinking thats why it may be late....

Artmayjor- I would definitely call them if I were you, because the dean says everything's been mailed out now.

The only people who might be late in hearing are transfer students, because those aren't done yet. So if you're a transfer, I wouldn't worry.
