Hi, I'm currently in community college looking to transfer to GMU after summer. I started off my first year in Psychology at community college, but I changed my major to IT. I am struggling with grades right now, and I'm planning to work really hard this upcoming semester and the summer semester to at least maintain a 3.1 GPA or so. I'm also planning to talk with advisors at my school and at GMU as well. But for right now, what advice can be given at the moment? Thanks so much.

There is really nothing more important than keeping your GPA up. That will be the number one factor. You might also want to establish good relationships with professors who can write recommendations for you. Good luck!
I agree with the person above. I think your GPA is pretty good. I called GMU couple days ago, and they told me the average GPA of admitted transfer student last year was 3.2. I think you’re about right there. I think you should apply now if you want to attend GMU in the Fall 2015. I just applied couple days ago and still waiting for the decision. I wish I’ll get in, and I wish you’ll get in as well. Hopefully, I’ll see you there in the Fall 2015 semester.
