Actually @psssthoy her app wasn’t officially submitted until 11/3. One of her recommendation letters was late apparently because the invitation got lost in the teacher’s spam folder (at least that was his story, and he had submitted it to Naviance on time). But her GC called the Barrett rep and was told it was ok that she was a bit late, and then she got the email saying she was in the EA pool. We’re local so our GC has regular contact with the Barrett rep, which probably helped her slide in late.
Hi all. My daughter talked to Barrett a few times and was told that as long as your application was complete by the deadline, some other stuff had a few days to roll in and you had until 11/13 to be admitted to the school. If all of that was done, you would be in the sitting for the first round of decisions.
“moved to review” here as well
“Moved to review” also.
My D moved to review today finally!
Hopefully some good news before Thanksgiving!
The website says EA applicants will hear by 12/19 at 5 pm. If you look at the thread for Barrett decisions last year, it seems like NMSF’s tend to get the quickest decisions but it seems that at least some other (non-NMSF) decisions came out in early December. http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/arizona-state-university/2029404-asu-class-of-2022-barrett-admission-decisions-p1.html
Thanks @Corinthian
Accepted to Barrett. NHRP recipient.
Am a NMSF. Received an email yesterday about being a National Scholar recipient from Barrett + being “eligible” for the New American University National Scholar award, but portal still says in review? Does this email mean anything?
I am a NHRP. The website states that Barrett expedites the applications for scholars to a 2-3 week review. Mine it is has been there for 4 weeks and no decision yet. For the amount of your scholarship, just click on the Finance tab, under the Financial Aid and Scholarships group, look at the “more information” link next to Renewable Aid Programs Status.
Last year, my son found out on the exact day/time ASU posted that the EA applicants would hear. (Actually, he got the email around 4:45 pm EST…they said 5pm). He is OOS and loves it at ASU. There are a lot of perks that the Barrett kids get-- the better ones being: first group to register for classes, first group to select housing and the best dining hall on campus.
@SU88BFA that is good to know. How did he know about the exact day & time for the announcements? Those perks are pretty good. That’s why I am hoping my D gets in. Thanks!
My daughter got her Barrett letter and scholarship offer today. She didn’t get an email first, but we checked, and it was on the asu student site.
@kmonsour is your D in state or OOS? NMSF or NMHRP or neither? Thanks.
Congratulations @kmonsour !
@jellybean5 - It was posted somewhere (sorry, I don’t remember where) when the Barrett decisions would be sent out. On that day, he got an email saying a decision was rendered, and that he should check his myASU account. Sure, enough, the letter was in there, and then he received the same letter, with additional information, in the mail a week or two later. We were thrilled for the acceptance. That (Barrett Honors program) and scholarship he received made the cost of going to ASU the same as an in-state school. (We’re in Virginia.) He was ready to make a big change (in geography) and we were OK with him at ASU, as we saw how much he loved it when we visited. Sure, he hasn’t been home since August, but it’s OK.
Still no Barrett decision on the portal for D19 (not NMSF nor NMHRP), but they had financial aid listed when we checked last night. I don’t think that was there last week. D19 had previously received notification of her Presidential Award, but the financial aid table listed that by semester along with a university grant and the loan amounts.
@SU88BFA What are you hearing from your son about how he likes ASU/Barrett?
I am in. NHRP. Just received the notification!!!
