What does it mean when the application status changes from “pending/in review” to just “in review”?

Mine did the same thing about a week or so ago. I think it means “we have processed all of your information and are going to look at your app sometime soon”- or something to that effect. Do you have any idea when the acceptances/denials will start rolling out? Will we receive notification via MyASU first, or will we have to wait for a letter and then have an updated status? Also - does you @gobluemom85 know if we can apply to Barrett before we have our ASU acceptance? I’m sure the majority of us will get in (no offense!) so I want to be proactive in that aspect of the application. When do those acceptances start rolling out? Are you planning on visiting campus at all?

@wrongturn An ASURITE ID and password that you get upon submitting your application to ASU is all you need to do the Barrett application. You do not have to be accepted to do the application but you do need to be accepted (and the Barrett application must be complete along with ALL supplementary items) before your Barrett application will be considered in one of the application pools. The Barrett application becomes available September 3rd. All this information plus Barrett application deadlines and applicant notification dates for each pool are on the Barrett website at

One more question: does anyone know when they start accepting students? Thanks again @STEMFamily. You have been so kind in this whole process; I was originally looking at Tulane but some things switched around that ASU more financially practical for my family. After my visit, I just fell in love. Anyways, what I’m trying to say is that I’ve gathered a lot of information in a short amount of time, and thank you for helping me and everyone else. I really appreciate it. :-)

Edit: I read somewhere rolling application begins Sept. 15th, just about a month from now. :-)

You’re welcome @wrongturn88. Sorry I misunderstood that you were asking for dates of the ASU acceptance. The Common Data Set does say September 15. My D had her application submitted sometime in early August 2 years ago and her acceptance letter (sent USPS) was dated September 13th. Seems like her application status changed to accepted a few days before that or maybe it was just that she knew before receiving the letter.
