Any benefits in submitting SIR early?

…like priority in housing etc.? thanks.

for me it was finding out that i need to prove my residency status by may 1st

how long, on average, do you think would take to fill out the SIR? I am waiting for a reply from berkeley appeal. So, I will probably submit my SIR on may 1st. BTW, when is SLR due for SD?

SIR and housing application are independent of each other. For UCSD, your priority is set by the date you submit your housing request -- even though you did not send in your SIR yet. The deadline for housing at UCSD is May 4 but don't wait.

If you're worried about your appeal not coming in on time, make the $100 non-refundable deposit and submit your SIR to UCI. It is non-binding if you decide to go to Berkeley instead, but they will not refund you the deposit; still, it is a small price to pay to avoid non-admission to any university, right?
