Any campus robbery at Brown?

First of all, everyone is completely overstating the importance of these figures. I went to school in New Orleans for a year, which pretty much has the highest crime and murder rate in the country.

I was never mugged, never robbed, never hurt in any way. A couple of my friends got mugged over the course of the year, but as you have demonsntrated, that is equally true of New Haven, Providence, and other cities. The bottom line is that you'll BE FINE!

Furthermore, PosterX, you couldn't be more wrong about the so-called isolation of Brown. Brown is right by Thayer, which is a fun college stirp, a 15 minute walk from downtown, a 10 minute walk from another quirky college strip (Wickenden), etc. Your assertion that Brown's, again, so-called, isolation makes it less personal is just wrong because most people do not move away, most live on campus.

There is definitely a difference between the East side and downtown Providence though. I would say a lot Brown students rarely venture off the hill except to go to the mall, particularly freshmen and sophomores. Once students are old enough to go to clubs downtown, or they volunteer or get internships, they interact more with Providence, but if they choose, Brown students definitely can live in a college hill bubble.

Rabo -- agreed. But the city is definitely there if you want it.
