So I am looking for a community college that offers equivalent classes to Cal's COG SCI C1 and (maybe) COM SCI 70: Discrete Math but so far I have found none. Seems to me that very few (or maybe none) college offers those classes. If you know any, please let me know. Thanks.

And I'm just wondering if anyone has gone to West Valley College and taken CIS 4A there? I happen to study at a nearby college, and lately I found out that for some reasons, that class, which is "Introduction to Programming in C++" fully articulated with Cal's COM SCI 61B O_o. I still don't understand it, is it a mistake, or is that introduction course THAT hard? West Valley College - Computer Science B.A articulation with UC Berkeley

Umm, just check and I don’t see anything [ASSIST Report: AVC 11-12 UCB Articulation Agreement by Major](<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST)

Sorry let me look around again i couldve sworn i just saw it being offered at one of them, im checking through assist myself for cog sci at the other UC’s

You may have an easier time finding a CCC with class which will transfer as Math 55 (Discrete Math taught by math department) which you should be able to use for the CS70 requirement.

^ Really? That’s the best thing I have heard today lol. My school has a Math 55’s equivalent, but I couldn’t find any CS70’s equivalent, so I think these 2 are different.

Thanks, but will taking it at a UC put me at risk because I will have had credit from a 4-year school? I have looked up every possible “big” CC’s articulation with Cal and still haven’t found a class articulated with COG SCI I.

If I apply as a computer science major (L&S), can I substitute CS70 with Math 55 I wonder?

Most cog sci majors liked Math 55 better, and did poorly at it, unless you want to focus on the computational modeling concentration - then most the courses have CS70 as a prereq. but the teachers would most likely be cool with you taking math 55 and have a strong programming and statistical background. At least that’s what I was told personally. i have math 55 -and was interested in some CS artificial intel course. The teachers are willing to work with you. They can’t really stop you from joining courses, its your GPA you know?

MCB 61 is offered at a few CCCs and CS61A is offered at a few of them too. Cog Sci c1, I had a hard time finding at any CCC. it’s pretty in depth at cal.

experience: I wanted to double in cogsci late in the game but couldn’t afford the extra units or else i’d cap out so I tried to take all my lower divs at community college so it wouldn’t affect my unit cap.
