ANY chance at all?

Hello,

This is my first time posting here and I think I may have originally put this message on the wrong board, so I thought I'd try again here...

My son who, as an out of state, applied to Michigan in November. We just discovered that, through an unfortunate mix-up, his teacher sent in her rec in the past couple of days, so obviously his app won't be considered until January at earliest, with Feb 1 deadline...

I won't list all statistics here, but a good enough student that he was invited to apply to the honors program at Michigan back in October, before he had even officially applied.

So, college counselor at school has said will call U of M, and both his father and I are past Wolverines. Could I ask for any opinions on his chances here, applying late as an out of state?

Thanks and happy holidays!

If he has two legacies and was invited to apply to the honors program they are probably just waiting to accept him.. honestly.

Ice_Sickle007, thanks so much for your encouraging words--I certainly hope you are right and my holiday wish is that everyone on these boards ends up the school that is right for them...

Thanks again!

Also, keep in mind that many kids who used Michigan as a back up to their ED/SCEA schools may be sending their regrets to Michigan in the next few weeks. Michigan will still have openings for talented students like your son. :)

FWIW, my D's teacher was 1-2 month late in sending recs to all the schools to which my D applied. This didn't create a problem. School seem to be used to getting late recs from teachers.
