This is my first post on this board, though I have been looking at this forum for a long time about the colleges I'm interested in.

Michigan received all of my materials by November 4th, however due to a communication error, they did not receive my counselor recommendation until December 2nd. Michigan is definitely my top choice school, but I am very surprised I have not heard anything back (not even a deferral) as of now.

I have been very positive and optimistic about my chances, but since it has been so long since I applied, I am starting to become more frayed and nervous. At this point, do I have any hope of getting in? I know someone on this board got in a few days ago, but I have absolutely no idea why they have put my application aside for this long.

I heard that those who applied early had the best shot. However, because it has taken them this long, do I have any advantage or priority for applying as early as I did, or am I grouped in with everyone who hasn't heard as of now?
