Essay's will be pretty good
Interviewing skill will be excellent (have taken many classes and have had tons of interviews throughout high school)

Oh yea and im Indian from a upper middle class family

sorry that its so long =(

sorry, i meant i got an 11 on my ACT writing score. its out of 12

id say you have a really good shot for all of them. your rank is a little low, but it sholdnt keep you out of any of them. just be sure and write good essays to land the interviews.

thanks eternity, i see that your already at northwestern, r u in the HPME program. If so how do you like it? The reason I ask is because my friend got into HPME and Stanford and chose Stanford.

I'm going to be a freshman in HPME this coming fall, but everyone I know thats in the program is in love with it. Its an amazing opportunity because not many top medical schools offer these guaranteed programs (other than Baylor).

Your uw GPA is pretty low too....and i'm not seeing any volunteer work :(

is volunteer work really that important though?

in medical related field yes

under the EC section i state that i helped out in a government hospital, this was volunteer work. I went there every summer and volunteered. I also volunteered about 100 hrs at a local library

your golf is strong for ECs, scores are good, but gpa is the weakness. gpa matters a lot when u want to get the interview, but hey, its random sometimes and I hope it is...

what if i was able to pull um my gpa to a 4.129 W and a 3.581 UW with the help of community college classes. Would that help?

Thanks for all the input you guys have given me

hey, it can't hurt..but the adcoms will decide..

3.581 is still a bit low..

I understand my gpa is low but don't my other stats make up for the low gpa. I know that things don't make up for other things when it comes to applying to college. But don't colleges look at the person as a whole? I mean my gpa is low but my ACT score is pretty high, and as you can see from my ec's I have been helping out in the medical field quite a lot.

Do they look at UW GPA or W GPA?

good question, i really don't know

anyone else, i could really use the help

unweighted

all of them look at unweighted..so basically trying to get H's in honors classes was a waste...!!

lol no its good u took honors classes, one of the most important criteria is academic rigor of course load. kyanh tran what sckools are u lookin to apply to? you seem uniquely, (tho oddly :-), qualified
