I thought I had a chance at getting into either Stanford or Dartmouth, but looking around on here, I'm not so sure anymore. Here's an about me:

SAT: 700 Reading, 720 Math, 610 Writing (Pretty low, I know)

ACT: Composite: 32
English: 29
Math: 34
Reading: 34
Science: 31
Combined English/Writing: 25
Writing: 6 (Low again...)

I'm taking the SAT II October 6th, Math II and Physics. I'm expecting 700+ for both considering my AP Scores in Physics/Calculus.

AP Scores: (My strong part for test scores)
5 AP Statistics
5 AP Human Geography
5 AP Calculus AB
5 AP Physics B
5 AP Comparative Gov't and Politics
Taking 3 more this year and am expecting all 5's, not that it influences admissions (Psychology, US History, Calculus BC)

High School: Ranked either 2nd or 3rd (not sure exactly) out of 495
3.98 UW GPA
4.45 Weighted GPA
I've taken a pretty heavy load, nearly everything is honors, and I've had straight A's (and 3 A-'s, all Freshman/Sophomore years)

Also, took Differential Equations over the summer after my junior year, at the local community college and got an A.

EC's: (My other perceived weakness)
Member of NHS and NSHSS (lots of community service)
Volunteer weekly at church
I run casually on my own (1/2 marathon), but nothing with my school
Tutored for several years (part of NHS community service)
Working 20 hours/week during school this year. Worked 30/week over last summer while taking Diff EQs at the community college. (Subway)
Was the editor of a book my sophomore class produced, and wrote an essay in it on Limited Government

My essay's should be good, not great. Not sure why I did so bad on the SAT/ACT writing because I can write a lot better than average. Also, I'm taking a class where we are learning to write application essays, so I think that should help.

Do I have any chance? Am I a long-shot? Honest feedback please. If I have no chance, tell me! (It'll save me the application fee)

Which school should I apply Early Decision for? The other colleges I'm applying to, I know I will get accepted (mostly state schools). They are far less competitive.

Also, my location is Oregon. Not sure if that would add to diversity or anything.

Thanks
Nick
