Wondering if I have any chance with a transcript of A's and B's while not taking the hardest schedule possible. I attended a pretty awful public school for 9th and 10th grade. In 9th grade, I had to take Algebra 1 and Physical Science instead of H Geometry and H Biology because I hadn't done so well in math/science in 8th grade...I was completely oblivious to the fact that my nonchalance about my grades then would affect my success in high school.
Anyway, I begged my guidance counselor and department heads to let me take summer math/science so that I could be in advanced math and science classes, as I always had been. My g.c thought it was very odd that I wanted to move up and told me that only students who had failed geometry/bio could take the summer classes. I looked for outside summer classes, but my school said they would not accept the credits.

The following spring, I again asked if I could take summer classes (this time, chemistry and algebra II), with even more determination but the rules had not changed.

Because of being a year behind in math and science (as the majority of my public school was), I am taking pre-calculus this year instead of calculus. I had to take chemistry during my sophomore year and so I did not have room for any college-level science electives or AP science courses. I could not take Honors Algebra II at my private school because I had not learned some necessary prerequisites in Algebra I that private school students had. I had to go back to Spanish 2 my junior year as opposed to Spanish 4H because my foreign language courses in public school had been so weak.
