Moving ruined my class schedule. :/

<p>Hi! So, after my freshman year I moved from Louisiana to California and the four year plan I had planned out in my school in Louisiana kind of went up in flames. Originally I had planned on taking Geometry and Algebra II together in Sophomore year (this year) but the school I switched to has a policy against allowing students to double up in any course...to make matters worse my original schedule had me taking Chemistry over the summer after sophomore year so I could take AP Bio in Junior year...the school I go to now also doesn't accept summer credits. After talking with my counselor I found out the only class I will be allowed to take over the summer for advancement is Algebra II so I can get that sorted out, but that still leaves me behind everyone else here in Science. I was the only sophomore in my Honors Biology class this year whereas in Louisiana it would have been roughly half sophomores and half freshmen. :/ </p>

<p>How bad do you think this will look to colleges? I'm still in all honors... :(
The middle school I went to messed up my schedule which prevented me from taking Algebra I in 8th grade thus setting off a kind of domino effect.</p>

<p>I also moved the summer after my freshman year. I ended up in a remedial trig class and freshman history. Example:</p>

<p>Planned 10th:
AP World
Honors English
Precalc
Chemistry
AP Bio
PE
Spanish 2</p>

<p>What happened:
freshman world history
English 10
remedial trig (wouldn’t let me into Precalc despite A+ in Alg. 2)
PE
Band
Spanish 2
Chemistry </p>

<p>Colleges will understand that it was out of your control. Just do your best. I am still a competitive applicant - if this is an indication, I was accepted to SIMR, a research program at Stanford with a 4-5% acceptance rate. I don’t know about college yet but I will in a year!</p>

<p>Colleges want to see that you did the best you could in the situation you were given. If you did, you’re fine. Oh and thanks :slight_smile: I’m very excited. </p>

<p>The geography shouldn’t hurt you, especially if the rest of your schedule is rigorous. But a class of freshman… That’ll suck.</p>
