Just wondering if I have any shot. Applying from a Catholic Massachusetts high school w/ a 3.05 GPA and a 1900 SAT (1230/1600). I have great ECs, including serving as a sports writer of a magazine, two weekly newspapers, and a daily newspaper. What do you all think, any chance?

sounds like you probably have a decent shot. its hard to tell w/ ppl from out of state because they don't take a lot, but your stats are average for someone from in-state who would probably get in. since you're a writer your essays are good hopefully, which will help. good luck.

To be honest, your GPA is rather low as compared to their mid-range of 3.7-4.2 (which is the recalculated weighted academics only GPA). The mid-range SAT is 1180-1350, so you fit there. UF claims to put more weight on rigor of courses and GPA and much less on SAT. Your ECs and essays could play a big part in your admission. Good luck.

Not sure if this means anything, but you have similar stats to an out-of-state friend of mine who got accepted for the class of 09. Your GPA is a little low, but if you have good essays I think you could balance things out and maybe get accepted.
