any chance

SAT: 690cr 620w 630m(am taking a prep course this summer with the hopes of getting a 1400+ CR+M)

GPA: 3.6 uw

AP's:7 by graduation

School Type: competitive public school in Connecticut, does not rank

Ethnicity: white

Gender:M

EC: good, but not exceptional

any information you could provide would be much appriciated. thx

If you can pull your SATs up you will probably have an okay chance. Difficult to say whether you'll get in or not, but you definitely have a shot.

wow, really? even though i'm OOS? to be honest i really thought i had no shot. If i were to get my math sat to over a 700, how would that affect my chances?

If you can get everything over 700, then your stats will be fine. Present your activities well and yourself in the essays and you'll have a good of a shot as anyone.

GPA not high enough. I predict waitlisted status regardless of SAT scores.

SAT math is in bottom 25% for applicants, CR is in range. However, you're at a significant disadvantage because you're out of state - really try to pull both of them up. Also, EC's are the kind of thing that will make the difference if you're on the borderline, and I predict you will be. Beef up your resume and write them a killer essay.

i heard being a mle gives me an advantage at W&M. is this true? and if so, to what extent?

more girls apply than guys, but the stats for accepted students are not significantly different

you definitely have a shot... convince them you are more than numbers, they will look at your whole application.

Yeah, more girls apply than guys. But then again, the ratio of students on campus is roughly 55/45, so this kind of balances things. If it's any less competitive for guys, the difference is not too great.
