I am currently a high school senior and Howard University has been by dream school for quite some time now. I just feel that I can do so well there in completing my course of studies and ultimately achieving my goal as working as the director of a non-profit organization someday, or possibly even launching one of my own. But before I get ahead of myself I wanted to know what my chances would be for admission and possibly scholarships.

I plan to double major in Psycholgoy/Sociology and minor in Theatre Arts or Music

GPA: (Weighted) 3.87/(Unweighted) 3.46

ACT: 24
-27 English
-26 Math
-26 Reading
-22 Science
-8 Writing
(These scores average to 25.25 which is just below the minimum for the beginning freshman scholarship which requires a 26 and a 3.0 GPA or above. Since I am applying early decision, I was wondering if I took the test again in December and submitted those scores as a update if I would be considered for a scholarship before funds were exhausted? What do you think?)

We are a group of students that go to local elementary school and tutor and mentor the students, similar to the Big Brother Big Sisters Program. We also engage in community service projects in our community. I am extremely passionate about this because as I said before I am looking into working in the non-profit field, and I felt that as a young leader this would be an excellent opportunity to test the waters and produce an even greater outcome of helping my community and school district.

I feel that I worked extremely hard on putting the real me into my essay and I worked even harder at condensing it to 500 words lol. So I feel that I am in good shape in that aspect,

The letters of recommendation that I have came from my Academic Coordinator/ AP Lit. Teacher. Hers is the best one I have by far. I also have three others from my Principal, Former Choir Instructor, and my counselor.

If you guys could tell me what my chances are in terms of admission and scholarships that would be awesome, that so much! <3
