What are my chances of being accepted into Howard?
Also, I know my Freshman year grades were terrible, but my Jr. and Senior year grades were fantastic ..Could I get academic scholarships for those two years?

And can I get athletic scholarships for Cross Country and Track even though I was JV and only did them for 2 years? I would have done them the first two years, but my grades were too bad.

Are there scholarships for Mock Trial?

The reason my grades were so bad Freshman and Sophomore years is because my father died right before Freshman year started. I was depressed.

So what are my chances?

I hope to double major in Sociology and History/Black Studies.

Thanks,
SomeGirl

you should be in

Hi! You may already know this, but a bit of advice:
Make sure that, in the recommendation they will write, your college advisor/guidance counselor/whoever thoroughly explains the situation with your father and that that is the reason your grades were poor. If they know there was a very legitimate reason, colleges will be more forgiving.
Hope this helps, best of luck :)

Debater09: Thanks, I'll make sure to do that. But what do you think my chances of acceptance are? And what about scholarships?

I say in. You have a great upward trend. You junior and senior GPA is crazy good and a 34 on the ACT is really amazing. Good Luck! :)
