For my senior year I only have 4 honor classes and one AP which is Bio. Do you think I still have a chance? AP English can’t fit into my schedule

Are you a strong writer? Being a strong writer is something that Barnard values specifically.

what classes have you taken previously?

I’ve only had French as an honors everything else has been regular @Clarg17 previously I started getting better in school my average was around 84 sophomore year now it’s raised to 94

@tmilaa how many AP classes does your school offer and how many do the mid-high achieving students at your school usually take? Have you taken the SAT or ACT? what were your scores?

I think more information is needed, such as EC’s, test scores, UW GPA, and course rigor.

Agree with the above posters. More info is needed. Barnard wants its students to have taken the most challenging courses available to them and to have done well.

@Clarg17 my school offers about four: AP Environmental, ap psych, ap English, ap bio, we did have ap euro but less than 10 people signed up for it so they cancelled it. I was one of those who signed up for ap euro history. I have taken the SAT and got 1530 but I’m trying to raise it because I know I can do better

I’m sorry there’s 6 adding AP Calc and AP US history @Clarg17

@tmilaa If you really want to go to Barnard give it a shot! The worst thing that can happen is you get rejected but at least you tried. (I am also a perspective Barnard applicant HS Class of 2015 with less then stellar scores but I’m trying to stay positive)

Do you have any ECs your passionate about or dedicated to that you could write your essay about?
If you don’t mind answering, why do you want to go to Barnard and how did you find out about the school?

I’m a perspective Barnard applicant of 2015 as well & at first my mom told me about it I was like seriously? All girls? But I went to the junior planning day and fell in love … These women are so accomplished like i met students who were scientists like wow. I grew to admire them and I really love the Columbia U and Barnard relationship it just increases what they have to offer. And I’m in a lot of service clubs and programs so I might write about that @Clarg17
