Any classes you regret ever taking?

My school doesn't have any language besides Spanish, and it's only offered for high school, with no honors or AP, so I didn't have too many choices there.

^^^that sucks... maybe you can take up a new language in college?

i like French, but i really wanted to take spanish because a) it'll be more useful in my life. b) i've always wanted to learn it. i liked spanish from 7th to 10th grade, but last year, and this year, especially, the class is soooo boring :(. the frenchies have more fun (however, i think each class learns the same amount of info i.e. nada)

oh, and chemistry and every math class i've ever taken have all sucked

All classes related to math and science? But I didn't have a choice about those.

Those of you lamenting your language choices should have take German. Deutsch is sehr kühl, und schöner als Leute glauben.

Anyway, class I regret taking it precalc, by far. It came close to single-handedly ruining my junior year and sticks out as the only C+ on my transcript. Now that I'm finding it didn't keep me out of colleges I feel better, but it was a miserable experience. It's why I'm taking AP Stat this year and saving the calculus for college where I'm sure it'll be better taught.

I regret taking honors Gov./Economics. Ridiculous class and menopausal teacher who kept the classroom at -273 K. No amount of remedial knowledge about the Amendments or Supreme Court cases was worth a semester's suffering through absolute zero temperatures and asinine stock market projects. I even got an 83 on the stock market project for "plagiarizing," when I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in the entire class who didn't copy and paste off Google finance.

From now on I will listen when friends tell me to AVOID certain teachers.

^ absolute zero is 0 K and -273 degrees C, not -273 K...

-274 K would be so effing cold!

Damn. See this is why I did so bad in chemistry!!! loll

Honors Physics. oh GOSH not even AP physics. HONORS.
i guess i just having a really really bad teacher. but by no means is he easy. right now my class ranking is dropping from 1 to 19 and it's really affecting my gpa. what's really bad is ----- i don't understand anything AT ALL

so yeah. no exaggeration intended.

Acting I. It was fun, but I could've started Latin instead, and it's not like I've never experienced theatre before... I'm only on play 18 right now.

I seriously regret taking AP Comp Sci A. I really didn't understand it at all, and worse, I actually took the AP exam. Needless to say, I failed the thing, but whatever.

Study hall.

And ALL OF OUR CAREER PATHWAYS PROGRAMS, even though they're mandatory.

They are such a waste of my life.

AP Biology. I feel like I haven't learned anything this year over honors biology, and it lowered my GPA and I'll probably retake it in college.

IB Computer Science :(

I regret taking Religion this year. Unfortunately, it's required. I also regret taking Keyboarding.

I shouldn't have done a semester of Public Speaking this year, and should have done an extra semester of Woodworking instead. Our school has two categories of electives (fine/performing arts and technical/cooking), and you need a total of 1 year of each. What I didn't know when I chose my courses at the end of 8th grade (due to a clueless middle school guidance counselor) was that concert band, which I was able to fit into my schedule a few days a week because it fit between my lab periods, counts as a fine and performing arts elective. So doing band a few days a week for my full four years will more than fulfill my fine/performing arts credits. So I basically wasted a semester earning credits that I didn't need, when I could have gotten the needed credits out of the way, because then I would have a full year open where I could add an extra class. I could have started another world language and had two years of it if I skipped ahead in one, or I could have taken extra science electives or extra AP social studies classes.

Oh well... if I only had known that I didn't need public speaking. Not that it was a bad class or anything, and it sure was a GPA booster.

i more regret coming to the private school i did because i see the kids at my public school getting waaay better grades and gpas. i just think i could get into a better college if i went there since the grading system is so hard at my school.

oh my god theatre arts!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it would take care of my one fine art required to graduate.and its supposed to be an easy A class.so i took it. there was two theater arts teachers.one gave A's to their students but MY teacher made that class so hard!!!!!!! she gave super hard test about the history of drama and made us write reports worht 400 points.it murdered my gpa!

I wish I hadn't taken Art this semester; I could have doubled up on Spanish this term (our school is on the block schedule), so I could have been in Spanish IV honors by next year... oh well.

I wish I took AP English Language instead of regular English... I ended up getting the harshest-grading English teacher; no one has an A. On the other hand, I heard the AP English class is really easy; almost everyone has an A.

I also wish I took Physics (really easy class at my school) instead of Chemistry. My chemistry teacher treats the class as if it were AP. Why did I end up getting the hardest teachers for my regular classes?
