Any colleges that don't require school reports, teacher evaluations etc?

Are there any that don't require school support before confirming admission, like the UC campuses and the U of Illinois??
Thanks in advance!

Sorry if this is in the wrong section :S

Why is this an issue for you? Is it because you have been out of school for a while? Or is there some other reason - explusion, discipline issues, etc? Your previous schools have to cooperate at least enough to send a transcript at pretty much all four year colleges.

My school has a limit for the number of applications they’re willing to support and I’ve already used up the limit. Sending in transcripts/supporting info after I make my final decision would be no problem though.
So I’m basically looking for colleges that ask you to self-report scores and send official confirmation later :)

Later would be like after May 1, when I’ve made a final decision on which uni to attend

In order to be considered for admission, the college or university will need to have an official copy of your transcript or the foreign equivalent. Period. In some states the public colleges and universities can access official student transcripts electronically directly from the high schools. If you out of state, or out of the country, this is not possible. Your school will have to provide the transcripts whether in paper or electronic form.

You might look into FERPA. I don’t know that your school can deny you a copy of your transcript (though I think they can make you wait up to 45 days). I don’t know that there’s any obligation for a counselor’s report (though it shouldn’t be an issue if you did stuff through the commonapp) and I would imagine you could get teacher’s recommendations without school approval.

@ happymomof1 - I understand this, but are there any unis that only require transcripts after I accept their admission offer?

@ aigiqinf - I think it’s school policy, I’m an international student. I’m doing paper applications unfortunately :frowning: But thanks for your help!

Iowa, Iowa State, and Montana State allow you to self report your high school course work and grades a the time of application. At Iowa State and Iowa, an admissions decision is based upon this self reported data and a self reported test score. The decision is made an posted within 48 hours of receipt. Montana State requires an official test sore report prior to admission.

Official transcripts are not sent until after you graduate from high school. Obviously, if you lie on your self reported coursework, your admission will be revoked.

Not sure if this applies for foreign students.

You might be applying to too many colleges. What’s the limit from your school?

@ Haystack - ooh, thanks for the info! I’ll go look into them now
Update for anyone lurking: unfortunately Iowa and Iowa State both require international students to submit official transcripts. But it’s cool that they can make admissions decisions in 2 days! :o

@ ccuser95 - they allow 8, would more than that be too much?

8 is usually enough for most people (at my school) but it’s not super rare to apply to more. I applied to about 12 and people give me looks but I also know a guy that applied to 20 and people who applied to 1 (got in ed).

On the actual topic, no I don’t know any schools that do that. Sorry.

wow 20?! :o that must have taken quite a lot of effort! I’m trying to go for around 10 (need to add more safeties as the ones I’m applying for now are really risky)

Likewise at the University of California.

Yupp I’ve already looked at the UC campus as well as the U of Illinois
But thanks for your help!!

geogria institute of technology are self-report

Ooh thanks!! It’s a pity the deadline for international students has already passed, would have loved to apply otherwise!
