<p>I'm trying to do some research on whether or not to stay at Irvine valley college to get my lower division CS classes done. I signed up for a semester of general ed at irvine valley but i'm thinking about transferring to occ after finding that ivc has a horrible lack of information regarding transfers and an abundance of useless counselors.</p>
<p>Just wondering if there are any successful CS majors out of IVC or OCC who could give me information about their experiences.</p>
<p>Take note of OCC’s Smart ICS program with UCI. Finish all the required courses there and transfer to UCI as a junior with full standing. Fullerton College and LBCC also participate in Smart. Do you have a lot of units at IVC? Getting classes at OCC is a beeeeeeeyatch…</p>
<p>Oh and one thing to point out - the Smart ICS program explicitly states it caters to ICS majors (which apparently is a major you can declare after transferring; it doesn’t work with TAG), but I spoke to a UCI counselor who said it also applies to CS majors. I suggest you clarify this for yourself; I didn’t even know about Smart until I landed assfirst on it while random googling one day…</p>
