Any courses to take concurrently with I-Core?

I have heard that X420 was a good course to take concurrently with I-Core, but it seems all sessions that fit my schedule were already full/closed. Therefore I am considering taking other courses, how about Z302? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

BUS X420 requires senior-level standing in order to take anyway. If you are taking I-Core as a junior (and most people do), then you don't qualify to take BUS X420 yet.

Most people who are going to take another business-related course with I-Core will take either BUS Z302 or ECON E202--both of which are required to graduate from Kelley--and neither of which are required prior to I-Core. If you want to take a non-business course, then almost anything at the school qualifies.

Remember, though, that I-Core is 14 units. Therefore the workload will be equivalent to essentially 5 full regular classes. Take another course if you must, but keep in mind that you are likely to be swamped if you do.

Did you finish your Gen Ed classes? If not, it's a good idea to take an easy class during i-core. For Example, Z-403 Music of Jimi Hendrix...awesome class.

Thanks for the suggestion thlocke! Do you know any other easy classes? I need to take 2 more 200+ level N&M

Thanks!

hmmm, I'm not sure about N&M 200+ as I did A&H concentration. Try to stay away from physics, I took a class called Energy and it was impossible.

I think psychology falls under N&M, might want to check there.

If you need some A&H or S&H, or N&M (100 level), let me know and I'll post the classes I think are the easiest.

I appreciate your help thlocke! Could you suggest one A&H class?

No problem.

As far as A&H classes,

So far I've taken Z403 (Music of Jimi Hendrix) which is pretty much a guaranteed A if you go to class.

The other class I've taken was T206, Intro to Production and Design. It was a decent class, wasn't too bad. I wouldn't call it super easy, there were a couple projects involved including script writing and story boards. However, if you're interested in that sort of thing, I would say it's an enjoyable class.

I still need to take a couple of international A&H classes to satisfy the international requirement. I'm taking E110, Popular Culture in East Asia next semester. I hope it will be easy.

You can't go wrong with any of the music classes though. Z301 (Rock Music of 70s and 80s), Z401 (Music of the Beatles), Z201 (History of Rock and Roll). I'm pretty sure there is a blues class, a Frank Zappa class, and my friend told me there is a Bob Dylan class starting soon.

There are two professors who teach those classes, pretty sure both are awesome. I have Hollinden right now and is probably one of the best professors I've had. I'm sure the other guy is great too though.

If you want to see if a class is easy, check out the grade distribution center and search for the class you want to take. It has to breakdown of all the A's, B's, etc.

Grade Distribution Request by Instructor Name: Office of the Registrar: Indiana University Bloomington

Hoped this helped.

That was a great great help thlocke. Thanks for giving me these valuable information! I have decided to change my concentration to A&H next semester. I have one last question, how were the exams of those courses? any essays or projects to do? Thanks so much!

My son took Telecommunications T-206 and got an A-. One of the reasons that many students choose this class is that all three of the professors that teach this course are good ones. This is important if you are a freshman (like many students enrolling in this class are) and therefore may not have the ability to choose which class session they get. FYI, my son took the class with Susan Kelley.

As far as an international course, he took World Regional Geography (GEOG G120) with Roman Zlotin and got an A.

Zlotin has a heavy Russian accent and is difficult to understand, and the course requires a lot of memorization of countries and capitals and stuff, but as long as you don't miss a class you'll do fine. One miss of a class, however, and your grade can fall by almost a whole letter grade, since he doesn't allow test make-ups (so don't miss those test dates).

Yeah T-206 is a good class. Like I stated previously, there are a couple projects involving script writing and story boards, not tough by any means but can take a few hours.

As far as the music classes, I've only taken Jimi Hendrix, but your entire grade is based on 3 tests. 60% is based on lecture, 40% listening to a song and identifying it. I've gotten a 49/50 on the first two tests and reading the book is pretty pointless as he covers everything in class.

I think the other classes are set up the same way, at least for Holinden. You can find his syllabus online by searching the class and his name.

HYPER classes FTW!!!
