<p>3.39 GPA (only 9-11th grade because senior year grades go by semester at my school)
1800 SAT (low math section)
African American female
NHS member
By graduation I will have taken a total of 10 AP classes
(2 in 10th grade, 3 in 11th, 5 in 12th)</p>
<p>I have done 700++ hours of community service
I am very involved in my school with theater, diversity club, choir, book club, and student council</p>
<p>That is the basically what was on my application</p>
<p>Also the 3.39 is my unweighted GPA my weighted GPA is around a 4.3 (my school heavily weights AP and honors courses)</p>
<p>Hopefully I will get my letter today, I live near the DFW area…!</p>
<p>i live in austin so yeah it hasn’t came yet so if you don’t live in texas its going to be a few more days maybe at the end of this week or next week</p>
<p>actually i got mine this morning.
and i’m accepted! 
and my decision letter was personalized because they referred to my desire to help build the gibraltar bridge in it. did this happen to anyone else?</p>

<p>omg you live in conneticut!! wow they must really want you! yeah i guess it sucks and doesn’t make sense… conneticut is in northeast and much farther then where I live hmmm. maybe they send me with antoher batch or something. i usually get my mail around 3-4 so i’ll tell the news as soon as it is in my hands!</p>

<p>@sypde24 - I actually had a dream last night that (I don’t want to jinx anything…but) when A letter from SMU came that it mentioned/referenced my essay haha. Also, are you near the Hartford area? because that would explain for my mail not being here while yours did come - but i guess that means mine is coming tomorrow!?! ahhhhhh so nervous</p>

yeah i guess so! haha. but its possible that different admission counselors sent out decisions at different times…and mine was one of the first i guess. it was dated dec 17</p>

or i guess it still is, but it’s not likely that i’ll get in since i got deferred. vanderbilt is my second choice. aaand i did receive a scholarship of 7500 per year!! :D</p>

hmm strange…then again somehow my counselor changed midway thru the process from hilary to stephanie dupaul, who i think is the director of admissions. but haha funny dream. and no i am in the middle of litchfield county. i hope yours comes tomorrow!</p>

<p>It seems that the students getting their SMU packets this weekend who received schollies are in that lower amount $12-14K range, similar to the TCU schollies of $14K last week. Methinks I am seeing a trend here. Either the schools are sandbagging - starting with a less expensive lure to see who will commit right off - OR SMU and TCU just tapped into some sort of “brain trust” that has been hidden from view by most of the world for their full rides…LOL.</p>
<p>These kids on both boards are posting stats that make me want to offer them jobs in my company already!</p>
<p>I’m really glad I wasn’t competing with this current crop of seniors back in the '80s when my big EC’s were welding and ag…hehe…maybe TCU gave me the “sympathy” vote back then.</p>
<p>@sypde - yeah i used to have hilary too, but didn’t even know that it had switched until about a week ago since i just assumed everyone was getting emails from stephanie because she’s the interim dean of admissions (but maybe everyone was?)
and litchfield county is closer than me - so i bet mine will be tomorrow
