Any experience in appealing a merit scholarship award decision?

Temple’s scholarship documentation includes the note: “The deadline to appeal for additional scholarship monies based on
new testing information is January 15. The appeal must be in writing.”

Has anyone appealed their scholarship award? If yes, can you comment on the process that you followed and the outcome?

If we appeal it would not be due to new testing information, but primarily due to our point of view that Temple gave very little weight when calculating his GPA to the level of rigor of our son’s honors/AP level course load which caused him to be awarded a lower then expected level of scholarship. We would also perhaps include an acknowledgement of his improved senior year first marking period grades but honestly that is not our primary appeal element.

There is no clear documentation that I can find as to how to initiate the appeal process so I expect that if we want to pursue this appeal we have to call the admission office directly to find out to whom we should send our appeal but hoping perhaps others have pursued this and can shed some light.

Thanks in advance.

no insight other than what you said about calling admissions. i;d be happy to look over your draft appeal if you want a second set of eyes. i do handle appeals(non college related) as part of my job.

Thanks @ctl987 I sent you a PM.
