I was just accepted to Kenyon ED (yayyyy!!!) and I'm super excited. The only issue is, due to a misunderstanding with my parents, we did not submit a Profile in time and I was not considered for financial aid. I think there's still time to submit a fafsa, but is there any way they will still consider me for financial aid? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

My guess is they’ll consider you for financial aid. You’ll want to call the admissions and financial aid office and explain the situation. The college’s policy is that they’ll meet all demonstrated need, but if they accepted you while under the impression that you didn’t need any, and it turns out you need quite a lot, they may start to feel like they were played, which they wont like at all. I believe you have to reapply for financial aid every year, so if they say there’s nothing they can do, and you still want to come to Kenyon, you would only be out the financial aid award for one year.

The financial aid office is usually pretty good about letting you submit things a little late but if they don’t let you there are always outside scholarships. I’d make an account on fastweb.com and then fill out the full profile and apply for as many scholarships as you can! Sometimes a $500 scholarship doesn’t seem all that big but in the long run it really helps.
