any financial aid packages yet???

it's a little early, but i thought we could all post hear when we start to get our financial aid awards so everyone knows whats being sent out when!

if you'd like, post here about merit scholarships you've gotten already.

so far i've gotten $32,000 ($8,000/year) from CCA at on the spot admit day and a wussy $8,000 ($2,000/year) from PNCA.

last year i got $20,000 ($5,000 per year) from MICA, but ended up taking a year off.

I haven’t heard back yet, but I’m pretty sure I’ll get 20,000 from MICA for academics. Is that what you got it for?

I got a “package” from Pratt, but it was just a bunch of forms!

brianm02- no, my $20,000 from MICA last year was called a presidential scholarship and it was for merit.

emburst- That’s because you’re supposed to fill them out to get your money.

I haven’t gotten any forms from Pratt. I’ve gotten the email, but still waiting for the acceptence letter.

i got my packages from SAIC and CCA…

SAIC gave me about roughly 20,000 a year in aid(not including scholarships),while CCA pretty much gave me a full ride, because of the creative and diversity scholarships.

In waiting on CCS,and anything from Pratt…anything

when did your CCA package arrive and what deadline did you apply by? way to go on getting that much aid from them, by the way! congrats!

@brianm02 & OhGooglyMoogly

For those curious, from Pratt I got an acceptance e-mail then I got the acceptance letter then I got another acceptance e-mail. Then I got a packet of forms that has to do with housing, admissions deposit, blah blah blah, but no financial awards letter.

I just got my acceptence letter from Pratt today. A letter came with the folder also saying I am recieving a 14,000/year merit scholarship.

I’m pretty sure they’ll send out financial aid in two weeks.

got my CCA stuff today. i got $34,400 split up between scholarships, grants, work study, and stafford loans.

it seems a bit confusing with some people giving their per year award and some people giving their full four year package. also, i noticed that some people are combining their scholarships and grants with their loans. anyway, here’s what I’ve gotten.

CCA - $12,600 scholarship, 3,000 workstudy, 15,500 loans - all per year (so, times everything by 4 for the whole package)
SCAD - $8,000 scholarship per year, still waiting to hear on the rest
Parsons - $11,000 scholarship per year, still waiting for the rest
Pratt - $10,000 scholarship per year, and waiting…
SFAI - $10,000 scholarship per year, ditto

Oh ok. To be clear, I received:

$8,000 creative achievement per year
$9,400 cca scholarship per year
$4,500 pell grant per year (hopefully unless the economy gets worse)
$3,000 work study per year
$9,400 in loans

For CCA. I don’t know about anywhere else yet.

so do we only accept the financial aid for the school once we decide where we wanna go, or if we havent decided do we accept it for all the schools to reserve the aid?

You usually accept the FA for the school only when you know you’re going.
