Any Freeman Asian Scholars in the house?

Anyway, he is such a nice guy and I wish him a best result that he would prefer!

and......I received an E-mail in Febuary from "University of Evansville", lacated in Indiana. They will provide me with an annually 10500 US dollar scholarship (I still have to pay like 25000 then, too much for my family)and invite me to apply(I was surprised and thankful to hear that since I only applied to Wesleyan for the scholarship). I just received their invitation and scholarship promise paper these days. Does anyone knows anything about this university? It is categorized in "Master's University" and I have no idea what a Master's university is like.

To Chang:
Congratulations on being offered the scholarship! I don't know anything about the university and the term "Master's University", though. Perhaps you can visit their web site and find out more. I got several partial scholarship offers too, but I can't afford to pay the remaining fees, so I definitely can't go.

Best wishes for you too, Chang! Let's do our best in our studies and prove that we can be world-class in a local university :D

Oh, anyway, I don't know what the scholarship committee seek in us applicants, but from a successful scholar from my country, I heard that it seems that Wesleyan does not put that much emphasis on SAT score. This is because, according to him, his SAT and TOEFL score were quite significantly below some other finalists from my country who spent their high school years in Singapore. Yet, he was chosen instead of them.

To Sisi:
Wow! Great to hear that you'll go to a college in Penn on a full-ride scholarship! You're so lucky :) Have a great time there!

Also, thank you for wishing us luck :) I hope I can be the alternate and eventually get an opportunity to study at Wes, but if it doesn't happen, it's OK, I'll go to the local university and (as you said) make the most of my time there.

Hi Kathy (Chang) and Tania (pociteh)!!! I'm so glad that we can share our thoughts here and that we all find ways to move on. Thank you for your nice wishes, I will spend the next four years well :-)

About Wesleyan Freeman's criteria, in case there're prospective applicants here, I see that SAT is not a so important factor. In fact I got the highest score among the finalists (> 2200). GPA and SAT only helps in the first round. Then the interview decides.

It also depends on the interviewer. I mean, I know many people in my country who got the scholarship and I can see a general pattern: Mr&Mrs Freeman and Prof. John tend to choose someone who has a more colourful character, like more active or funny. While Dean Overton and Alice pay more attention to academics and tend to choose "gentler" people. Just a few thoughts.

Can I add you too on MSN or Yahoo? Plz reply my personal messages :D

"Mr&Mrs Freeman and Prof. John tend to choose someone who has a more colourful character, like more active or funny."

^^^
As I said to Sisi in our chat, I found it to be true, it seems. I've got an information about an admitted student from Indonesia (haven't got the news of the other one). He's exactly of that type: active, funny, sociable, while I'm the 'gentler' type of person.

Despite not being admitted, I'm very happy to be here and meet some new friends from other countries (Sisi & Chang)! :D It's really nice to get to know you :)

Oh, I really wished that I had been interviewed by Mr. and Mrs. Freeman and Tania by Ms. Terri and Ms. Alice. And Sisi, what is your type?

I've sent you private message here, Sisi, and added you to my MSN!

I had the same wish too :D I'm the active type.
Yeah I will add you.
See you soon
