has anyone seen hostel? was it good?
or any other good scary movies that hav come out recently? im thinking of watching one this weekend...

I heard from a friend of mine that Hostel sucked. Too explicit, too gory, but the storyline and concept sucked so it wasn't really scary.

I thought Hostel was pretty good--much better than any other "horror" movie I've seen.

I thought the Exorcism of Emily Rose was a little frightening... at least the part when her college buddy finds her on the floor all twisted wierd.

I haven't seen any of the movies mentioned. I'd recommend "The Others" if you haven't seen it. Psychologically scary. I had to turn on the living room light and go down to the kitchen (was watching it alone after midnight) in the middle of it.

yikes i could never watch scary movies alone!! ooh i wanna see the others! havent seen that.

Stigmata has to be the scariest movie I've ever watched. I was paralyzed in my bed and couldn't sleep the night I watched it.

People say that Amytiville Horror was bad.. but that is one of the freakiest movies i've ever seen. It even beats the japanese Grudge.
I get ultra scared when a movie's based on a true story.
When I watched the Others (at like 13ish?), I was truly wetting my pants. I thought it was very very scary at the time.

But one of the spookiest thing I have ever seen is Frank the bunny rabbit from Donnie Darko. Honestly, it cut down my shower time from 10min to like 2min because I was so scared just thinking about the rabbit.

Oh god. The Exorcism of Emily Rose scared me so much that I almost fainted in the theater.

And I got so scared that I slept in my parents' bed for more than 1 week.

I want to see Lady in the Water!

LOL nofx! yea i heard amityville was freakkkky. dang scarier than the japanese grduge?! MUST BE REALLLLLY scary. i still hav yet to see the ring and grudge. eep my list of movies i need to watch is growing!

whats stigmata about?

i watched wolf creek which was based on a true story. and i kept havin the images of gory torture/blood everytime i closed my eyes in bed! that movie kept me on the edge of my seat forever but nothing really happened til later! but i love that feeling of being tensed up for nothing! thats why i so love scary movies!!

If you want to see an awesome scary movie, check out Jacob's Ladder.

Nosferatu, and The Fearless Vampire Killers (though the latter is also a comedy).

hostel was bad...saw/saw II okay.

excorcism of emily rose made me chuckle at times...like when she was spazzing out in her room from the spirit...it made me laugh lol

I saw Hostel and I swear it was a mix between a porn movie and A gory movie. I mean the movie was just very gross not scary

^^^^amityville horror? black/white or recent one? recent one wasn't scary at all.

Exorcism of Emily Rose is not a particularly scary movie, but i do think it's actually really good overall. The only way I think Emily Rose would be scary is if you are an extreme believer in the stuff, or you let the fact that its based on that German girl get to you.

^^I think it does contain moments that can tickle the spine. I don't agree that it is an overall good movie, because the characters are not built well. Plus it holds a certain level of predictability in the story line, which I don't always enjoy.

Since no one's seen Jacob's Ladder (fair enough), I feel obligated to provide more information. Look up MKULTRA on Wikipedia and use your imagination.

Hostile...I heard from someone it's supposed to be really scary.
