My son was homeschooled and is at UT. He had good SAT scores and 50+ hours in dual credit from the CC. You can call admissions and ask to speak to the homeschool counselor to ask specific questions. It’s my understanding that there is a person in admissions who looks at your grades and scores and decides what you would be ranked if you were in a public high school. I think the better your scores are the better chance you have of getting in. It also helps to have some outside validation of your scores, such as CC classes.

Thank you so much! This really helps. I really kick myself for not taking dual credit this year. Hopefully my EC activities & community service will supplement that.

Were his scores in the 2000’s? Cr Reading & Math combined 1300+?

@lamegan i am sure they were probably well above 1800, and im guessing math and reading were probably around a 1300 to

Pierre, why are you replying for somebody else?? Give it a rest! You don’t have to respond to every post! Ack.

@MaineLonghorn, I was gonna say the same thing >.<

^^^LOL, I think Pierre is a little disgruntled…

His scores were pretty high (2200+), but I imagine that he would have gotten in with lower scores. He is in an honors program. I’m guessing that the homeschool counselor would be able to tell you about what you need to aim for in order to be considered. I do think they will consider your ECs and Community Service.

btw–you could take some CC classes this summer. Summer registration is going on now-- might be worth looking into.
