ANY HOPE?

Hi, I’m a sophomore in Cali.
The first semester is about to end and my grades are really bad. I take the HARDEST classes availabe (yeah I made the wrong decisions) and now I have 2 Cs 2 As and 3 Bs!
I have heard that the unweighted GPA is far more important than weighted.
Truely, should I even think about college? I had big dreams but then everything changed, depression, and blah blah blah:
Just give me some tips plz!?
Thanks!

There are thousands of colleges in the US and many that you would be willing to accept you. UW GPA is the equalizer since there is no uniform weighting system that all High schools use. Showing good HS course rigor will help with some of the lower grades, but now that you know what you did wrong, you can work harder and smarter Junior year and bump up your GPA.
You do not have to go to a tippy top school to be successful. The majority of students are not attending these types of schools. Do your best and the end of Junior year re-evaluate where you stand. GPA is only one factor in the college admission process, important nonetheless, but work on the other areas also such as test scores, EC’s and essays.

Don’t worry and your dreams can change…
