I am Ed for the Hotel School. Anybody else?

I made this just to let you know I am too - and because I haven’t seen too many other SHA EDer’s, I just hope I haven’t cursed myself haha.

yeah i did, and ive seen two other people besides you two^^ who have. anybody know how many people get accepted RD after getting deferred ED?

Me!
Good luck!

Count me in to…Hotel ED

what type of experience did you guys put or use?

-just curious to see what most people apply with:P

Hi!
I didn’t apply ED (but I wanted to…), but I wish you all good luck! I am applying RD.
Hotel School 2014!!!
I don’t have any paid work experience (I know…not good…), but I have done lots of volunteer work. I also have leadership experience. What about you guys?
I am so excited! I am in love with the hotel school! I hope we all get in and get to go there!!!

I had two paid internships - one at an accounting office during winter and another at a hotel online marketing office for the summer. The hotel company also does marketing for the Statler so hopefully that’s a plus :)

I am hotel ED as well

aghhh!! i’m soooo nervous!!
ummmm i don’t know if i have a chance of getting in or not…

I applies to cornell’s hotel school ed

here’s my stats:

GPA Unweighted: 3.05
GPA Weighted: 3.6

SAT Critical Reading: 610
SAT Math: 710
SAT Writing: 680

SAT II MATH 2C: 800
SAT II Korean with Listening: 780
SAT II US History: 660

Yes, I know my gpa is REALLY low, but you have got to take into consideration that my school is a magnet school and it is ranked number 28 by U.S. Newsweek, which means a LOT of competition.
I have taken 6 AP classes and the rest honors.

I have many ecs
My main one is work experience.
I currently work at a Hilton Hotel as front desk. around 32~40 hours a week. i end school at 12 20. go to work at 230 and come home at 11.
I interned at this hotel for 150 hours and have started working there since aug 3 2009.
I think I wrote a bomb essay
My interview was 1 hr 45 min long. She seemed to really like me.

ummm… yeah basically I’m just nervous. If I don’t get in, I would probably go to UNLV.

do you know if cornell looks more on work experience than gpa???
b/c i’m basically riding on work experience b/c of my low gpa and sat scores

well anyways gluck to everyone!

I heard that SHA is all about passion for the hotel industry, which you seem to have, I mean 2:30-11:00 as a high school student O.o kudos to you  And also, I hope you explained the GPA thing in your essay. Good Luck :)

sweet I work front desk too!

yeah I guess we are in the same boat…my academics aren’t bad…but I have had two hotel jobs . Good luck!

i did as well!!!
lets hope we all get in :)

1 more day! Good luck again, everyone
I hope we all get the chance to meet each other next year.

Wow all of you guys have wayy more experience than me but whatever maybe ill make it…

just curious…how did it go?

deferred…

Accepted!!!

I was deferred… upset but still hoping, barely, for the spring.

they must have deferred more people than ever…in fact maybe they had no rejections at all…let’s hope the rd applicants aren’t too many.

I was deferred too
