hey, just wondering if there are any indonesian international students at uc berkeley?

most likeley

know a couple indonesian chinese

i know a few. well one already graduated a while ago but he's from an indonesian international school. others from some indonesian international school as well.

Well, I know that they have a student club called BISA (Berkeley Indonesian Student Association).. Maybe you can find them during tabling?

haha...international students pay their way into cal...i've heard this many times. That's why they don't get financial aid.....their parents back home are soo damn rich and they pay huge sums to let their kids in.

Well there very well may be internationals students who have wealthy families to support them, the international students I know, are often supported by their government. There are several Presidential Scholars here at Berkeley form Singapore, and a Malaysian student who is also supported (all expenses, etc.) by the Malaysian government. Another is a from the UK on private scholarship.

They do not receive financial aid, not because "their parents back home are soo damn rich," but because financial aid is for U.S. citizens (and permanent residents?). Hence, FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Hence, international students rarely receive financial aid.

In addition, other international students are here for a semester or a year through the UC reciprocity and study abroad programs.

i'm indo Y ^_^
I hope i'll get into berkeley :~)

there are quite a lot indonesians at berkeley; i personally knew many of them.

and, mosharma134.. don't knock. i can make (negative) generalizations about others, too. that's the easy part.

if they're not competent enough to be in the school in the first place, the academic rigor will wipe them out anyway.
