Hello,
I’m planning on applying EA to Tulane, and obviously that deadline is rapidly approaching. I have parts of my “why Tulane” supplement written, but I’m struggling to find what makes my intended major/academic programs at Tulane stand out. I know it’s a strong school all around, and especially in business, which does hold some interest to me, but I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight as to what programs at Tulane are especially strong?
I’m particularly interested in its communication, film studies and political science programs, but any information you could give me would be helpful.
Thanks!
Well, for film studies New Orleans is known as Hollywood South. A search of the Tulane news archives on the Tulane site will yield several short articles in support of this topic. For poli sci, this has always been a popular major at Tulane, James Carville is very famous in the area and teaches a course (search this as well) but even besides him Louisiana is, of course, famous for its political history. You should be able to use these facts to your advantage in your essay.
I wouldn’t get too hung up on that part of the match anyway. Just be honest in why you like Tulane overall, and that will show through.
